The truth about living in South Jersey 🤫 People hear “South Jersey” and picture the turnpike, a rest stop, and whatever they saw driving through toward Atlantic City one time in 2009. Here’s what doesn’t show up in a quick Google search: You can hit a farm stand in Mullica Hill in the morning, be in Philly by lunch, and be standing on the Ocean City boardwalk by dinner. That’s a 45 minute radius, not a road trip. The towns still feel like towns. Pitman has a bookstore where they remember what you’re reading. The Collingswood farmers market is a full social event. In Washington Township, the neighbors are actually neighbors. And the food is not a joke. Water ice in July, a real cheesesteak any day of the week, and more good coffee than a suburb has any right to have. Every place has its quirks. Ours just happen to be the reason we stay.
